[29] When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. [30] Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. [31] But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them. [32] Afterward, all the people of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. [33] And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. [34] Whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, [35] the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again until he went in to speak with him.
GOD and Moses had a very special relationship. Moses was a friend of GOD. As a result, when Moses spent time with GOD it was seen all over him. His face would be full of GOD’s glory. So much so that the others didn’t understand it, and would be afraid. Moses would have to cover his face with a veil so that the others would be comfortable. However, when he would meet with GOD he would remove the Vail. At first, Moses didn’t know there was any difference in his appearance, he just went about what the LORD had instructed him to do. It wasn’t until the people’s reaction that he knew something was different.
When we spend time in the presence of the all-mighty it’s easy for others to see. You might say it’s written all over our faces. Others may not understand it, they may even be a little afraid of it, but the thing is they will see GOD on you. That’s what I desire. When others look at me I want them to see how GOD has changed my life. Because if HE can change me he can change anyone. My question is what do they see when they look at you? Are they wondering what is different? Or do they see someone no different than them? We are to live in the world not live of the world. Listen we (just like Moses) have been set apart. The world should not understand us. There should always be that question in their mind as to why we don’t react the way they do. Why we won’t let fear control our discussions. Our face should shine with the glory of GOD. Having just spent time with HIM. So my challenge is seek GOD’s face and do your absolute best to find out who HE is. Dig into HIS word and let HIM shape your life through it. GOD wants a relationship with you. HE wants to meet with you, to speak with you, to share HIS thoughts with you, reading HIS word is not a make on a list of Christian things to do… It’s an encounter with GOD HIMSELF. Seek and you will find knock and the door will be opened ask and you shall receive.
Father, you are so amazing. We just want to sit in your presence. Just to spend time with you. We want to know you more, to understand your desire for us. We don’t want to be the ones who walk away from time with you the same person we were when we came. We want to know you. We want our life to reflect the fact that we spend time with you. Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Let our life reflect your word. As the church when the world looks at us let them see love because that’s what you are. We as all this for Your glory. We want you to be seen. Uses us to show the world your face because you have made us in YOUR image. In Jesus name I pray amen
