[43] There I will meet with the people of Israel, and it shall be sanctified by my glory. [44] I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar. Aaron also and his sons I will consecrate to serve me as priests. [45] I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God. [46] And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.
GOD wanted to meet with HIS people. HE wanted a place to do so. It couldn’t be just any place because GOD is holy. It had to be set apart, made holy. How was that going to happen? From what I see here in scripture the glory of GOD was the way to make that happen. Aaron and his sons would need to be consecrated as well…again something only GOD could do. They would be set apart to serve GOD in HIS temple. I believe the point of all this is the fact that GOD wants to dwell with HIS people. HE had a temple made to HIS specific directions. Chose men to serve HIM set them apart, and all to hang out with HIS chosen people. So that they would know that HE is their GOD. The one who brought them out of Egypt by HIS mighty hand.
I wonder what GOD has done to show you that HE wants to live inside your heart. Has HE brought you out of Egypt? HE doesn’t dwell in tents of fabric anymore. HE lives in tents of flesh. He has sanctified you by HIS glory and consecrated you to serve HIM. I am reminded of the servants who had been given talents to use to build the kingdom. Some of them used them and brought more back than they were given and one of them dug a hole and hid what was given out of fear. Their master had set them apart. The question is what did they do with that? GOD’s glory has set you apart HE has built for HIMSELF a home in your heart. My question is what are you doing with that? I would challenge you to serve HIM. HE chose you for a reason. HE has made you in such a specific way to carry out what HE has for you. GOD’s glory is amazing, and HE lives in me and you. We are set apart to serve HIM. So what are we waiting for?
Father, you are a good good Father, and your plans never change. You have painted a picture for us so that we could see your heart. You have set us aside for your service. I want to be found using what you gave me for your kingdom. You dwell in us your holy spirit guides us and your cloud of glory has changed us. We know that you are GOD. You are the only GOD that could take us out of Egypt and bring us to a point of trust that runs so deep. We love you and we desire to serve you. We know that you will open doors no man can close and you will close doors no man can open. So we stand here ready. We just ask that you make it clear what doors to go through and what doors not to go through. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
