Everyone needs a Moses

Scripture:

‭Exodus‬ ‭32:11‭-‬14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

[11] But Moses implored the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? [12] Why should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this disaster against your people. [13] Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by yourself, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’” [14] And the Lord relented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people.

Observation:

Moses went to the LORD and spoke to HIM about the people. He asked why HE was so mad at HIS people. I almost wonder if there was not some explanation about how they had just come out of Egypt, a place where every god they worshipped was made by their own hands. Moses reminded GOD that the Egyptians were watching all of this, and if HE destroyed HIS people the Egyptians would use that as a point to turn others away from HIM. Moses asked the LORD to relent from HIS anger and reminded GOD about Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. The promise HE made to them was at stake here.

Application:

As I look back at my life and see how GOD has moved. It’s easy to see that someone was praying for me. In fact, at times I have no idea how I got to where I am at. Someone had to be going to the LORD and saying wait don’t get so mad he just came out of Egypt. Without someone praying for you do you think you would be where you are at? We have not done this on our own. Intercessory prayer is important and now that you are in a better place because of the prayers of others maybe it’s time for you to go to the LORD in prayer for someone. It’s easy to get you out of Egypt, the hard part getting Egypt out of you. That’s not going to happen overnight and it’s going to take someone who loves the LORD and loves you praying about it. Reminding GOD of HIS promise. I don’t want to be in Egypt anymore and I don’t want Egypt in me either but let’s not stop there Egypt is not what I want for you either so I pray every morning that what goes out in these S.O.A.P’s will change the lives of those who read them.

Prayer:

Father, your Holy Spirit is amazing. You have put it on the hearts of your people to pray for others. I think about bible study every Friday night. The men you bring to my house have other people on their hearts to pray for and you have brought those people the answer to the request they have laid at your feet. Thank you. I never want to forget to lift up those who take the time to read these S.O.A.P’s. Father, I pray that you will continue to use them. I desire to see lives changed by the blood of your son the power of the Holy Spirit and your drawing hearts to you. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
