God hears your cry

Scripture:

‭Exodus‬ ‭2:23‭-‬25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

[23] During those many days, the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. [24] And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. [25] God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.

Observation:

I read some great verses this morning about deliverance. However, I settled on these verses. On that day when one king passed away you never really knew what to expect next. One thing we do know is Israel was tired of the bondage of slavery, and crying out to GOD was their only option. Not only was it their only option, but it was the best option. Because their cry for help did not land on deaf ears. GOD was listening he was probably waiting for the moment when HIS people would cry out. The Bible says HE remembered his covenant. Although I’m sure HE never forgot it. HE was just waiting for the right time. The fact that Jacobs’s name was changed to Israel earlier in the Bible is part of that covenant. But to be honest, has nothing to do with my point today. At the end of the verses that were chosen today, it says GOD knew. HE knew it was time

Application:

Have you ever just been tired of it? Life just keeps on and keeps on and keeps on. Feeling trapped by sin, looking but finding no way out. The Bible says if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 GOD is waiting and listening HE hears our cries of desperation, and at just the right time HE will send the right person place or thing in our path. I want us to notice it comes by seeking his face, and that happens in desperation most of the time. So my question for you this morning is are you desperate for GOD even in times of plenty? hard times make strong people who seek the face of GOD. Are you tired of the bondage of sin? Cry out to HIM. HE is listing. HE is waiting for you to seek HIS face. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us GOD is not slack in HIS promise but HE is patient and wants all to come to repentance. HE is listening and HE hears our cries.

Prayer:

Father, our life is in your hands, and your timing is perfect. We want our hearts to be desperate for you even in times of plenty. I know that if we would just set our minds steadfast on you, then our cries would be based on a desire to just be in your presence. Honestly, that’s what I am seeking. I just want to be in your presence. Knowing that no matter where you take me you are there. I remember my cries of desperation and the bondage of addiction and sin and I am so grateful that you have set me free I pray that anyone reading this is in that place. That they would cry out to you and seek your face turn from their ways and run to you. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
