Scripture:
Exodus 28:1-3 ESV
[1] “Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests—Aaron and Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. [2] And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. [3] You shall speak to all the skillful, whom I have filled with a spirit of skill, that they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him for my priesthood.
Observation:
In the middle of the blueprints for the Tabernacle here is this little jewel. GOD is giving Moses instructions on how to build the place where HE will come down from heaven and dwell with HIS people, then HE says I want you to bring Aaron and his sons to me. I have a special task for them. I want you to set them apart. Not only by the way they live but also by making specific clothing for them. I want people to see the difference. These clothes are not to be made by just anyone, but GOD had specifically filled skilled workers with the spirit of skill. I can’t help but think this is not a small deal. Aaron would be the high priest. HE was bring called set apart so that others would see the difference and honestly so that he would know he had something special to do as well.
Application:
Many are called but few are chosen. Listen I am telling you if you are reading this you have been called by GOD. HE has a task for you. That only you can do. Right now HE is setting you apart. Has made a garment of righteousness for you (that is Jesus Christ) that makes you look different from others so that they can see something is different about this guy or gal, and also so that you will know that THE ALMIGHTY has called you. We have all been chosen for such a time as this. Step into your calling and put on the robe HE has made for you. It’s time to gather the harvest, my friends.
Prayer:
Father, again I thank you for your word this morning. Thank you for encouraging me I know that there is work to do. So let our hands, feet, and minds be diligent in the work. It’s harvest time, and you have prepared a crop for us to build your kingdom with. Let us not miss these opportunities to bring others to know you. We know that you have called us and there are people in our circle of influence who need to know you. Allow us to be bold and speak your truth so that you can bring them into the kingdom. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen
