Scripture:
Exodus 31:1-3 ESV
[1] The Lord said to Moses, [2] “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, [3] and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship,
Observation:
The LORD is speaking to Moses. HE has just run down a specific set of instructions, about things for the temple. The bronze bowl to wash Aaron and their son’s hands and feet and many other things. Then HE says “I have called Bezalel and filled him with the spirit of GOD, with ability and intelligence with knowledge and all craftsmanship. This was no mistake GOD hand-selected him and placed in him HIS Holy Spirit giving him specific talents that were beneficial to the purpose that GOD was giving instructions for. These were GOD-given talents down to the intelligence to do it.
Application:
GOD has called you by name. HE has placed inside you gifts and talents that you may not ever remember learning. But they are there and it can not be denied. My question this morning is… Has the Holy Spirit revealed to you what is supposed to be done with that gift or talent? If so it’s time to get to work, and if HE has not revealed it, maybe it’s time to pray. This much I know GOD has given it to you for HIS purpose, and that is not to dig a hole and cover it up. GOD’s gifts and callings are without repentance. I can say this as well the thing that GOD has gifted you to do is probably the one thing that you don’t think you can do. I have a great example from my own life… If you would have told me that I would be sending out S.O.A.P’s every morning to many groups of people and even the internet. I would quickly explain why that would not be possible. However, GOD has done something inside of me through HIS Holy Spirit that I could not do. HE placed the right people at just the right time and at just the right church and out of that. This S.O.A.P. ministry was born. With that, I could tell you all the ways the enemy has tried to keep this from happening, and GOD has moved mountains to make it happen. Now all that has been said to say this. I don’t want to be the one having to explain to GOD why I dug a hole and hide what HE clearly gave me and in my opinion that should be your stand as well. My desire is to hear the words Well done my good and faithful servant now enter into my rest, and honestly, that’s my desire for you as well. So my suggestion is if GOD has given you a talent find out how to use it for HIS glory.
Prayer:
Father, your plan is beautiful, and when we finally submit to your truth. It’s truly amazing. We don’t want to hear the lies of the enemy anymore. We don’t want to hear what we can’t do. When we know in our hearts that you said we can. Father reveal to us what you have gifted us for and show us the plan you have given us that talent for so we can start using it for your kingdom. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
