It’s not my fight

Scripture:

‭Psalm 124:1-8 ESV‬‬

[1]  If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say— [2] if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, [3] then they would have swallowed us up alive when their anger was kindled against us; [4] then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; [5] then over us would have gone the raging waters. [6] Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! [7] We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! [8]  Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Observation:

David knew where his help came from. The thing is, he was not afraid to talk about it. He grew up hearing about the miraculous exit from Egypt. As if crossing the red sea wasn’t enough. Manna from heaven and many other miracles were mentioned all through his childhood. By the time he became a shepherd boy. These stories of GOD’s deliverance were part of his belief system. Facing the giant was just another opportunity for GOD to show out. It was his firm belief. He knew that the things that had happened throughout his life…as many battles he had been in. The number of situations that had come across his path as king. There was no doubt that the LORD  had been fighting for him, or his life would have been much shorter than it was. His help is in the name of the LORD. Now I must add that there is no name above the name of jesus. This next part is a freebie. Anytime you see the word the LORD in scripture and it’s all in capital letters, the word has been translated for GOD’s real name… that name is YAHYA. HE is the one who gets all the glory, and David knows that. Every battle HE was there every impossible circumstance YAHYA showed up. HE is the one who fought every battle, and David made sure that the stories he heard as a kid did not stop at his childhood. He lived a courageous life. Allowing GOD to continue HIS work.

Application:

What exactly are you living for? Who gets the credit when something amazing happens in your life? Are you focusing on you, or do you look up? I have been given some amazing opportunities. To help some amazing men. Men who want to have a different life than the one they had a few short months ago. It’s what I live for. It’s honestly my heart. To watch these men over come battles the enemy tries to use to derail them. It’s clear that the LORD is fighting for them. I know because HE fights for me. I experience daily battles as well. Things that if I were to put my hands to would get messed up real fast. My point to my statements so far is that on a pretty regular basis. These men will try to give me the glory, and it’s not mine. I know that. I can’t even take credit for the victories in my life. GOD has been fighting for me. I always turn them back to Jesus. By telling them look it not me. It’s something beyond me. I can’t do any of what gets done in my life or yours without Jesus fighting my battles. The battle belongs to the LORD…the victory is mine… I know I don’t really understand it myself. Sometimes, I just know that it’s what HE wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and I believe it, not only because I have seen it come to pass in my life but because I have watched it come to pass in yours as well. GOD is fighting for you… and there are times when all you have to do is be still. However, always remember the glory is not yours, and it’s not even your spiritual advisors it’s GOD’s HE fights the battle you get the victory.

Prayer:

Father, you are so amazing. I don’t always understand how you  work. But I have had the privilege of watching you do so many things not only in my life but all those around me. I never want to have a look at what I did outlook on the absolute miracles that you perform. This life has nothing to do with me. It is about the people you place around me so that they can see your mighty hand in my life. Anything good that has ever happened in my life…is you…it’s your hand… there’s no way I could have done it… and anything good that happens in the lives of those around me…it’s your… I know that that glory is all yours. All I get to do is stand in, awe, and say, “Would you just look at what the LORD did?”There is no way this could have happened without HIM.” It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
