[7] Then I said, “Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me: [8] I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” [9] I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord. [10] I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation. [11] As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain your mercy from me; your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me!
Reading through the psalms is always refreshing. I love the communication between David and the LORD. So, let’s get started. David grew up hearing all the things GOD had done for Isreal. Listening to the stories of deliverance. Hearing about miraculous moments when the sea or the river Jordan parted. He knew the value of a story and saw how the LORD was still in the business of writing. Those who wanted to make sure that the history of GOD’s chosen people were preserved had written down the things David had accomplished. I always like to visualize these moments in time. As David sat down with the scroll. I wonder how his face changed when when he came across the spot when the scroll said he delighted himself in the LORD. You could almost see him thinking…wow I didn’t know that’s how they see me. The power of his story set in, and he knew it had to be told. GOD had done some amazing things through David, and others needed to know all things were possible. David spoke in the congregation, and wherever he was given the opportunity to tell about his LORD. I believe GOD’s mercy flowed through David’s life because the LORD knew he would not be afraid to speak about it. Trust in it and move forward through Is adversity because of it. David knew he overcame big issues in life because he trusted in the LORD, and others needed to hear that so they could do the same.
GOD is still in the writing business. HE has HIS pin to paper right now, and HIS eye is on your life. So I want to encourage you. If you are going through something, and it feels like it’s more than you can handle. It is… but GOD is writing your story. HE is looking at the end of what you are facing and saying that when they get to the other side of this, everyone will see that there is no way they did this and know that the LORD was involved. If GOD has delivered, you tell someone about it. If GOD is shaping, you make sure you are speaking about it. HE is the author of your faith. All the struggles lead to victories when we delight in the LORD. If it’s not good, then HE is not done, and if it is good, tell someone how good GOD is. HIS mercy flows to those who are willing to speak about it. There is someone who needs to hear how you have been picked up out of the mud puddle and cleaned up. They need to hear about the life that you burned down and how GOD has given you beauty from a pile of ashes. As you tell of the goodness of GOD. HE will continue to write an amazing story. From the sheep pasture to the palace, David’s story is still told today. Maybe yours can reach through time as well.
Father, your pin is still on the paper. You have a plan for each and every person reading this. There is someone that you have set to cross their path that you know their story will impact. I pray that we don’t miss that opportunity. Help us to see the amazing power you have brought out of our weakness. It’s the victory that you bring that has the impact, and it’s how you are seen. We want others to come to the knowledge of your love for them to use our story to catch their attention. We believe in divine appointments, and I know that you are setting up moments in time for your glory to be heard by others that you bring into our lives. You are truly an amazing GOD, and I thank you for my story even though it has not been easy. I can see it’s is well worth it. It’s in the mighty name of Jesus I pray amen.
